On this tour, you’ll explore three of the most traditional Prague markets with a local guide and learn about the history and traditions of the holiday season.

This Prague tour is a cosy, intimate holiday adventure through the picturesque streets of the Old Town and the vibrant atmosphere of the animated Christmas markets. If you’re in Prague during the holiday season, there’s no better way to experience the Czech Christmas culture.
You’ll be picked up at your accommodation by your guide, a Prague resident, and a local culture specialist. In their company, you’ll embark on an unusual excursion that feels more like a Christmas party than your typical guided tour.
As soon as we’ve said our hellos, we’ll head off to the first on the list of our chosen markets. At each one of these, you’ll sample delightful treats like mulled wine or Christmas cookies. You can also count on at least one other surprise that your guide will pick for you based on the daily offer and your own specific taste.
While strolling around the markets, your guide will share Christmas stories and explain our unique holiday traditions. Be ready for a decent amount of fun facts as our customs can be quite extraordinary and different from your own! You’ll also learn about the specific ways in which Christmas has changed in the Czech Republic, from before the Communist era, throughout its duration all the way to our contemporary Christmas celebrations.
The two neighbourhood markets we visit on this tour stay open until December 24. After that date, we’ll take you to two equally beautiful local markets within the historic city centre. The main Christmas market in the Old Town stays open until January 6.
The tour includes a magical visit to Prague’s main Christmas markets and not one, but two cozy neighborhood markets. You’ll get to savor traditional Czech holiday delights like mulled wine and Christmas cookies, while a knowledgeable local guide shares fascinating stories and insights about Christmas traditions. The tour takes approximately 2.5 hours.
Comfort is key on our tours, so we recommend wearing shoes that can handle Prague’s famous cobblestones and dressing for the weather. In winter, temperatures can get quite low, be aware of that and put an extra sweater into your backpack.
Don’t worry, we won’t let a little rain dampen our spirits! Just make sure to check the weather forecast and come prepared with an umbrella.
If you’re up for a leisurely stroll on some slightly uneven and cobblestone streets, then you’re good to go. Just be prepared to take around 4K – 5K steps throughout the tour. But hey, if you need a little extra love and care, don’t worry! We can arrange a private tour that’s tailored to your needs. Absolutely! The markets are full of locally made crafts, unique gifts, and souvenirs that will remind you of your amazing time in Prague. Just remember to bring some cash (in Czech crowns, not euros) with you, because some of the vendors prefer the good old-fashioned exchange of paper money rather than the modern swipe of a credit card.
You betcha! The markets we’ll be visiting are open every day until December 24th, giving you plenty of time to shop for unique gifts and tasty treats. But don’t fret if you’re joining us after the holidays, we’ve got you covered with three markets in the city center that will still be open for business.
Tipping is not obligatory, but it is always much appreciated and welcome. In general, you can aim at 10%, but only if you’re happy with the services you received.
Private tours take a certain amount of planning so it’s best not to cancel last minute. If it’s more than 21 days in advance, you’ll get a full refund, less than that is 50%. We can’t offer any refund if you cancel less than 72 hours before the start of the tour.
