Save Time, Experience More
Get ready to eat your way through centuries of history on this Prague food tour as you’re served a variety of dishes, ranging from the most traditional to modern recipes. With a local foodie guide by your side, you’ll follow Czech cuisine from its earliest European influences, through the Communist era of the mid-1900s, to the culinary inspirations of today. You’ll discover an assortment of Czech dishes that will leave your taste buds dancing and your belly full and satisfied.
Discover Prague in a Small Group
Join your friendly guide and a small group of fellow travellers for an intimate and hyper local experience; expect your night to feel more like a dinner party with friends than a typical tour!
First up on our menu: a local bistro where every dish is prepared according to traditional recipes from the 1920s. Enjoy one of their daily specials, paired with a slice of delicious dark bread and either a classic Czech lager or a homemade lemonade.
For thousands of years, Czech cuisine has been influenced by its neighbouring countries and cultures, creating its own profile of unique flavours. At our next stop, you’ll get to try this blend of cultures for yourself. This is true Czech food at its best.
Eat Like a Local
We’ll finish off with some sweet dessert. You’ve likely seen tourists eating chimney cakes out on the streets but our dessert will be something completely different – an authentic treat that reminds us of our childhood and that you won’t find at any tourist stand. And if you’re up to it, we’ll wash down the sweets with a wine from the “Czech Tuscany” – a region in South Moravia – that might be a pleasant surprise to you.
In between all these bites, we’ll wander the historic streets of this beautiful city, passing through the New Town’s art deco passages and exploring the magnificent Old Town. Make sure to have your camera with you as there’ll be plenty of great opportunities for pictures.
What Else You Should Know
If you love food, culture, history and exploring interesting places along with new friends, this Prague food tour is for you!
- Our tours run rain or shine
In case of rain, please dress accordingly and bring an umbrella or a raincoat with you. In winter, temperatures can get quite low, be aware of that and put an extra sweater into your backpack. But remember – it’s your vacation, so if you are cold during the tour, just say so to your guide. There’s always a cafe nearby where you can warm up and then go on with the tour.
Put on your walking shoes
Walking involved in the tours vary as each tour guide takes a slightly different route (which means you can take our tours multiple times and always discover something new). But we still run food and cultural tours, we don’t run marathons. If you lose weight on our tour, we’ll offer a refund :-). However, please do let us know in advance if you have mobility issues. We can always adjust the itinerary so that there’s less walking included.
So I have these food restrictions?
Traditional Czech cuisine relies heavily on meat, milk and butter. As much as we’d love to host anyone on our tours, please know that we cannot properly feed you if you are vegan or lactose-intolerant. Please contact us if you would like recommendations for good places for you to try outside of this tour – we are happy to help.
Vegetarians are welcome – just be aware that your tastings are going to be slightly different from the rest of the group and that we go to places that are very red meat-centric.
Everything’s covered, right?
In the restaurants, your guide will be making all the payments, including a tip on your behalf to the staff.
We reserve the right to change the course of the tour and places visited in case one of the venues is closed. In the event of a change of menu, we will pick the best alternative, ensuring no loss in quality or quantity of inclusions.
