How taking this tour will benefit the local community: All the stands we visit are 100% owned and run by local Czechs. As we’re in a small group of no more than 12, we don’t disrupt local life. By taking our guests to off-the-beaten-path locations, we help businesses that would usually not be visited by travellers.

Did you know that Prague Christmas Markets have been voted among the top 10 most beautiful ones in Europe? Don’t miss a chance to be part of this special occasion and come witness the city at its best with your own eyes!
This Prague tour is a cosy, intimate holiday adventure through the picturesque streets of the Old Town and the vibrant atmosphere of the animated Christmas markets. If you’re in Prague during the holiday season, there’s no better way to experience the Czech Christmas culture.
Explore Prague Christmas with All of Your Senses
We’ll kick off at Franz Kafka Square (a small plaza near the Old Town Square) where you’ll meet your guide, a Prague resident and a local culture specialist. Together with a small group of like-minded travellers, you’ll embark on an unusual excursion that feels like a Christmas party with friends.
As soon as we’ve said our hellos, we’ll head off to the first on the list of our chosen markets. At each one of these, you’ll sample delightful treats like mulled wine or Christmas cookies. You can also count on at least one other surprise that your guide will pick for you based on the daily offer and your own specific taste.
Christmas Traditions You’ve Never Hear of
While strolling around the markets, your guide will share Christmas stories and explain our unique holiday traditions. Be ready for a decent amount of fun facts as our customs can be quite extraordinary and different from your own! You’ll also learn about the specific ways in which Christmas has changed in the Czech Republic, from before the Communist era, throughout its duration all the way towards our contemporary Christmas celebrations.
What Else You Should Know
The two neighbourhood markets we visit on this tour stay open until December 24. After that date we’ll take you to two equally beautiful local markets within the historic city centre. The main Christmas market in the Old Town stays open until New Year’s.
- Our tours run rain or shine
In case of rain, please dress accordingly and bring an umbrella or a raincoat with you. In winter, temperatures can get quite low, be aware of that and put an extra sweater into your backpack. But remember – it’s your vacation, so if you are cold during the tour, just say so to your guide. There’s always a cafe nearby where you can warm up and then go on with the tour.
Put on your walking shoes
Prague’s Old Town is full of cobbled streets – please wear a decent pair of shoes. Walking involved in the tour may vary, but it is not a marathon. Still, please let us know in advance if you do have any mobility issues. We can always adjust the itinerary so that less walking is involved.
- Everything’s covered, right?
At the markets, our guide will be making all the payments of the snacks and drinks that are part of this tour, including a tip on your behalf to the staff.
